LAWLIST
refers candidates to Melbourne Lawyers, Sydney Lawyers, Canberra, Adelaide, Brisbane
Lawyers and solicitors in other cities and towns around Australia.
LAWLIST
has been created by experienced Australian legal practitioners from different Australian
States, who understand the difficulties that members of the public may encounter when
they have not previously needed the services of a lawyer, are not happy with their
current adviser, or simply would like to compare and make sure they are obtaining
quality advice and value for money. Lawlist will put you in touch with lawyers in
Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide or other regional centres around Australia
- solicitors with the expertise to meet your needs and at your convenience.
You may need a lawyer for a number of reasons including setting up or running a business,
termination of employment, family disputes, personal injury or someone may be making
or threatening to make a claim against you. Lawyers can be an invaluable source when
you are faced with a foreign situation - you pay for their judgment and expertise.
While a lot of legal work involves assistance after an event, such as personal injury
or employment law issues, quite often, the best use and value that can be obtained
from a lawyer is preventative advice or work, such as correctly drafting a contract
or preparing a Will. This kind of assistance can save thousands of dollars and avoid
litigation down the track that takes your time away from what you want to be doing.
By avoiding potential future problems through taking the right course of action from
the beginning, or making sure contractual or lease obligations are clear and understood
is clearly prudent business practice.
Lawyers are there to help you, so if you think you could benefit from discussing your
issues with one, then use LAWLIST's services to meet an expert on the law to assist
you in your decision making on how to protect your interests.
LAWLIST has done all the hard work for you - by locating a range of boutique law firms
throughout Australian States and Territories who provide the expertise you are looking
for and from which you can choose. Unlike other similar services, LAWLIST is not owned
or controlled by the law firms that we refer you to. LAWLIST is not a law firm and
does not provide legal advice. It is a referral service created independently of any
Law Society; so we are able to be selective in the lawyers we choose to ensure reliable
and quality lawyers only are referred, and just as importantly, lawyers who provide
competitive pricing.
Most clients of law firms are unable to determine whether they are receiving quality
legal advice. LAWLIST has already assisted in making this determination for you to
make sure the law firm actually has the ability and experience to handle your matter. Lawlist's
goal is to match lawyers' expertise with people who need them, to ensure the right
lawyer for a particular problem.
LAWLIST has sourced law firms around Australia that will deal with your matter professionally,
ethically and with empathy. We purposely have avoided top tier law firms because of
the expense involved. We have effectively created for you your own top tier law firm
by drawing on smaller specialist practices that deal in their own area of expertise
without the expense; whether it be litigation, immigration, criminal, business advice,
conveyancing, leasing or simply a neighbour dispute. We will make sure that we can
find the right lawyer for you with suitable credentials and who will respond in the
time frame that suits you.

Who
pays LAWLIST?
Lawlist Pty Ltd is a private business and we need to pay our
own way just as any other business would. We provide a service to both the legal consumer
and the legal service providers through this site.
As with any business legal firms must
advertise or promote themselves. Advertising and promotion is a cost of running a
business. These lawyers pay us a fee for our service based on opening a file for you,
and a commission on the professional fees charged to you. The lawyers that use us
understand that they are better performing legal work than spending their time and
money on for example, radio or yellow pages advertising, which is hit and miss for
both them and their clients.
The fee a lawyer pays us for our services then is just a cost of them running their
business. It is an expense they already pay in some way or other and is dealt with
in their own business plan. It should not affect the cost you pay for receiving their
legal services so do not be concerned that there is any extra cost to you for using
this service.
